Books I read and recommend
Okay, so as you all know I, Rebecca Bice, love to read. If you didn’t know this go read my other posts, they tell you a lot about me, my books, and my journey as a writer. If you’re not into reading the other post, just know, I love, love, love to read. Okay, so that out of the way, I am actually re-reading a book from the first young adult books I ever read. Wings by Aprilynne Pike.
I love her work and she has a new book out too. I so want to read it, but haven’t gotten the chance as the library doesn’t have it yet. I usually read all my books from the library, then if I love them I will buy them. This doesn’t happen all the time, as I read a lot of indie authors, I like to support them as I hope to be supported myself.

Back to the book though, if you haven’t read it go read it!!! Click on the picture to visit amazon. It was published in 2009. I don’t remember how many times I have read this book, but its lots. It is a fantasy book, shocker I know, I read and write fantasy. Wings is about a girl who finds out a secret, faeries are real, but not the way you thought of them in the past, and a guy friend who ends up in the middle of it all. I don’t want to spoil it, so I’ll just say that Laurel, the main character, finds herself in a world she thought was hers, but isn’t. She finds friendship in unlikely places and has a secret even her parents don't know about that changes her life and how she identifies herself in her world. Not only does she need to redefine who she is, but there is a person who is trying to find a way into the Faerie land and Laurel ends up in a heap of trouble because of this person. There are magical creatures, adventure, secrets, and the start of a great love story.
Wings is the first in her series, there are five books in all. In order of reading it goes: Wings, Spells, Illusions, Destined, and Arabesque. This last one came out a long time after the first four were written. The funny thing is I actually picked up Spells and read the whole book, a little confused, but enjoyed it before realizing it was the SECOND book. Yep, oops. Click on the Spells book to go to Amazon to view it.
Oh well, I went back and read Wings before moving onto the other books, which wasn’t hard to do. They took a while to come out because I started reading the books when they were first published. Lucky you, they are all out and ready to be read without any delays.
Go check her out on Goodreads or google her website, hint it’s her name, then add it to your reading list. Happy reading everyone.
